Our History

As a non-profit organization operating since 1983, Partners In Education has been working together for the good our schools. Partners in Education of Montgomery was incorporated as an independent 501(c) 3 in 1984.

Partners In Education, or PIE as it has become known, was an all-volunteer organization until September 1998, when the first staff person was hired with a $10,000 gift from Montgomery Capital Rotary Club. We are currently staffed with with an Executive Director, Mentoring Director, and two Mentoring Coordinators. PIE is also governed by a 30-member Board of Directors who are age, race, and gender diverse and representative of the Montgomery community.
